42 Years After the Munich Olympics Massacre

It’s been 42 years since the massacre at the Munich 1972 Olympics. Eleven Israeli athletes were taken hostage by the Black September Palestinian terrorist group. They demanded the release of 234 prisoners and two prisoners of the Baader-Meinhof Gang, Andreas Baader and Ulrike Meinhof. They were two of the most terrifying criminals born out of the left wing 60’s radicals. They were also known as the Red Army Faction. They terrorized Germany with the help of Neo Nazis.

I was seven years old when this horrific event took place. For those of you who don’t know me very well, I am a daughter of Holocaust survivors. Imagine surviving the Holocaust and seeing eleven Jews being murdered 27 years after being liberated in Europe.

Israel was still fresh off a victory of the Six Day War in 1967. Showing the world they would not accept any threat to their security and survival. Israel decimated Egyptian and Jordanian Forces by taking back the Golan Heights, Judea and Samaria. Israeli Defense Forces captured the Sinai Desert. Munich marked the beginning of a tumultuous campaign by Arab terrorists seeking to destroy Israel’s existence. It continues to this day.

Watching Jim McKay come on the television with sadness and saying “they’re all gone” was like a knife in the hearts of my family, and Jews in and around the Philadelphia area. There was silence for days in my home. My parents grieved behind closed doors. I was left to my own devices to figure it out by myself. In those days, parents thought the best thing to do is to protect children from any and all horrific events.  I know they were protecting me.  Holocaust survivors have a unique characteristic; the constant look of sadness in their eyes.

Prime Minister, Golda Meir, ordered the Mossad to take out every terrorist involved in murdering the eleven athletes. The Mossad was successful in hunting down and eliminating every terrorist except one; Abu Daoud. He had no regrets in his involvement in the attacks.    Abu Daoud was the mastermind behind the Munich attacks. Our CIA under the leadership of President Richard Nixon PROTECTED this terrorist. He was never brought to justice. The financier of the entire operation was funded by none other than Machmoud Abbas. He is also known as Abu Mazen. This man lives on the coattails of Yasser Afarat. There is nothing terrorist free about this man. He was the Treasurer of the PLO. He prides himself as a “moderator” but is a sick, lying sociopath who speaks out of both sides of his mouth.

The wounds of Munich are still fresh. They will never fully heal. It is a loss that we Jews must live with in every Winter and Summer Olympic event. When Israel sends athletes to the games, I gasp for air hoping and praying they have enough security detail to protect them should we be faced with another agonizing attack. Israel sends athletes to participate and Palestinians send their children to terrorist training camps. Good for Israel for not conceding in the face of terror.

This is the only option Israel has to reach a peace agreement with under the psychotic auspices of John Kerry. There you have it. Abu Mazen is an unrepentent guerilla who never apologized to Israel. He helped formulate  one of the most evil terrorist attacks against Israel ever known to the world. For now, I rely on G-d to administer the proper justice that I know will knock on Abbas’ door; hopefully it will be in my lifetime.
