When Kim Davis was arrested and sent to jail by a federal judge for refusing to issue same-sex marriage licenses in Kentucky due to her religious beliefs, it made me think of Martin Luther King, Jr’s words in his well known letter from a Birmingham jail. “One has not only a legal but a moral responsibility to obey just laws. Conversely, one has a moral responsibility to disobey unjust laws.” Civil disobedience has an important place in our republic. The new civil rights movement has begun.
In theory, everyone should be free to do what they want to do. When someone disagrees with something but they are forced into participation, that is when the problem arises. The Kentucky clerk of Rowan County, Kim Davis, was elected to her position prior to the Obergefell v. Hodges Supreme Court decision, which legalized same-sex marriage all over the country. Her job description was suddenly changed overnight. On this wikipedia chart, it shows prior to Obergefell v. Hodges, gay marriage very rarely won via referendum vote by the people. Before this Supreme Court case, most states where gay marriage was legal, it was due to a federal court decision.
Obergefell v. Hodges legalized gay marriage based on the equal protection phrase of the 14th Amendment. This was one of the Reconstruction Amendments. It handles the citizen rights of former slaves who were recently freed at the time. Following the Civil War, it gave freed slaves equal protection under the law. To use the 14th Amendment to legalize gay marriage is preposterous, especially since two years earlier, Justice Kennedy acknowledged marriage as something for the states to decide. As Justice Scalia said, “The five Justices who compose today’s majority are entirely comfortable concluding that every State violated the Constitution for all of the 135 years between the Fourteenth Amendment’s ratification and Massachusetts’ permitting of same-sex marriages in 2003.”
I never really thought the same-sex marriage issue was actually about helping gay people. Come on, the Left never does anything to help anybody. The long, hundred year progressive plan includes elements of slowly breaking apart the relationship people have with their families and with God. Socialism thrives in an atmosphere where atheism and loneliness rules supreme. Freedom dwells more in the realm of God. At it’s basic tenets, the fight between liberty and tyranny is a clear cut case of good versus evil.
Kim Davis sat in jail, while the most lawless president in American history Barack Obama, remained free and never even came close to being impeached by the spineless, futile Republican leadership. In interviews, Sen. Ted Cruz questioned why other lawless officials weren’t in jail for disobeying the law. Cruz brought up the Mayor of San Francisco who declared his city a sanctuary city defying immigration laws. American citizens have been murdered by violent illegal aliens because this Mayor is violating the law and the Attorney General of California has allowed the sanctuary city in San Francisco to stand unchallenged.
Government is persecuting Davis for her faith over this lawless judicial decree. Sen. Cruz also reminded us we were founded by people who fled religious oppression, who wanted to worship freely without government getting in the way. The presidential hopeful worried about the premise that Christians can no longer hold public office unless they violate their faith or go to jail.
Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson believes we are still a Judeo-Christian nation whose values are based under those beliefs. He stated that congress should somehow step up to prevent situations similar to Kim Davis from happening in the future. He believes separation of powers exist because when one branch of government makes a mistake such as the Judicial branch, it is up to the other branches to correct the problem. Nobody should be able to force their way of life onto another.
The Supreme Court decision was blatant judicial activism. Leftists try to debate the Davis situation by throwing around the establishment clause of the Constitution. “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, OR PROHIBITING THE FREE EXERCISE THEREOF.” The purpose of “no establishment” was to protect “free exercise.” According to law professor, Rob Natelson, whenever in conflict, the former must yield. Sexual behaviors are not a religion, despite what the militant, rainbow flag waving activists at GLAAD want us to believe. Gay people are less than 2 percent of the American population. This same-sex marriage issue was designed from the beginning to be an assault on the Christian majority and a part of the transformation of America.
Years ago, Justice Black’s opinion with Everson v. Board of Education established the anti-religious precedent which has done so much damage to religious freedom. And of course Black had ulterior motives as a KKK member who was also an anti-Catholic intolerant hateful bigot. The First Amendment was meant to protect religion from government, not to protect government from religion. It’s meant to protect individuals like Kim Davis, not the government body which employs her. The phrase “Separation of Church and state” came from a letter Jefferson wrote, not the Constitution. The statists like to figure out ways to twist language, misinterpret and use the law against the law-abiding. Five justices acted outside the law when they legalized gay marriage. They violated the law. Now, people are asking average citizens to simply obey and “follow the law.” Well, Anthony Kennedy isn’t a king and this is tyranny.
Our framers were men of faith. Many of our monuments and buildings reference God and the Bible. For decades now, our countries court system has abused the First Amendment’s free exercise clause in an attempt to erase this nation’s Christian heritage. As Mark Levin wrote in his book, Men In Black, “The intensive and concerted effort to exclude references to religion or God from public places is an attack on our founding principles. It’s an attempt to bolster a growing reliance on the government—especially the judiciary—as the source of our rights. But if our rights are not unalienable, if they don’t come from a source higher than ourselves, then they’re malleable at the will of the state. This is a prescription for tyranny.” In the same book Levin refers to judicial activists as “radicals in robes.” What a great description.
Even President Lincoln defied a Supreme Court decision with Dred Scott. Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. are two great leaders in our history who have used peaceful disobedience to prove a point. One man, Justice Kennedy, is imposing his desires and beliefs on 300 million people. Justice Scalia even advised people to defy this same-sex marriage law in his dissent because it is unconstitutional. Once again, like Ronald Reagan used to remind us, the federal government is the problem. They have no respect for the 10th Amendment. They have no respect for federalism. Hopefully, more people will begin rising up like Kim Davis did against this runaway federal government flooded with judicial activism.
Marriage is and always has been, first a religious institution, but secondly a state issue. The federal government has no right to involve itself in marriage. The Constitution clearly spells out in plain language what specific powers the federal government has, the states cover everything else. Each individual has unalienable rights which no government can take away. We will begin to see more and more Christians being persecuted in this country. More and more people will begin to take a stand against this iron fisted lawless government which is currently running the United States. The law is being used to violate the Constitution, which is the ultimate law, and the document which protects the people from out of control centralized tyranny.
This line from the Declaration of Independence still holds true today, “But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, IT IS THEIR DUTY, to throw off such government, and to provide new guards for their future security.”
Religious liberty is under attack! We will see this War On God continue as the Left marches forward with its fundamental transformation of America. As conservatives, at times we will need to disobey, to commit civil disobedience and to remind ourselves we are serving a higher power, one who sides with freedom.
Remember what Aristotle once said, “It is not always the same thing to be a good man and a good citizen.”
The GOP establishment has learned a lesson from the Left: lie. Obama campaigned like a Lincoln or a Reagan, then he governed like a socialist. If big government policies are so great and if America’s electorate has changed so much since Reagan, then why not be proud of your statist beliefs? The Left knows they lie and now the GOP establishment has decided to use this Rules for Radicals technique themselves. They redefine the meaning and definition of conservatism and rewrite the history of Reagan to suit their own agenda. An example would be Karl Rove calling his group the Conservative Victory Party when he is as far from a conservative as it gets. This isn’t cognitive dissonance, it is an out and out lie.
One of the worst offenders of this lying technique is the morally depraved Peter Wehner. For the past year Peter Wehner has made it his mission to smear Sen. Ted Cruz through his incoherent sophomoric column. He consistently preaches that Republicans must accept the New Deal, the Great Society and all the other utopian concepts which have contributed to the decline of America while simultaneously getting over the Reagan era. When it comes to potential candidates he trumps up a false narrative of electability and metrics over principle. This man has no respect or regard for the Constitution, the framers, Judeo-Christian values or the philosophy of enlightenment which this nation was built upon.
Wehner was a minion of the George W. Bush administration and “Dubya” and his gang were much like his Daddy, Bush Sr., who believed in a “kinder, gentler conservatism.” Many of the Bush staffers are working hard to contort Reagan’s message and his legacy. It was Bush’s outlandish spending which scared the nation into forming the Tea Party movement. Bush was never the student of Adam Smith or the admirer of Milton Friedman that Reagan was. Reagan said “keep government on the sidelines” while Bush said “I have abandoned the free market to save it.” These are the two opposite ends of the spectrum which are now warring over the future of the Republican Party.
One of the all time worst pieces which Wehner ever wrote was entitled “If Ronald Reagan were alive today he would be 103 years old” which was brilliantly answered by Jeffrey Lord stating “If Gerald Ford were alive today he would be 101 years old. If Nelson Rockefeller were alive today he would be 106 years old. If Thomas E. Dewey were alive today he would be 112 years old.” Yes, the struggle for the heart of the Republican Party is alive and well. It is an old fight which continues today. It should give us hope that if Reagan, Buckley, Schlafly, Goldwater and other conservatives could takeover the Party from the “fraternal order” in the past, then we can do it again today.
This week Wehner wrote a piece for the New York times pumping up the fraternal member du jour, John Boehner. According to him, Boehner faced an “uprising” and a “revolt.” This is how the Beltway elite describe a few people in Congress who are actually trying to represent their constituents by voting against someone who 60 percent of the Republican voters are disappointed in. A new Congress voting for a new Speaker isn’t a revolt, Mr. Wehner, it is how our Constitutional system operates, not that you have any regard for the law or our founding documents. Wehner then rambles on for what seems like an eternity with his new squishy twisted definition of conservatism, blatantly showing his ignorance.
There’s a complete disconnect between guys like Wehner who live and think within the bubble of the Washington D.C. media and the average Joe who is a Republican voter. Wehner speaks on temperament and disposition as a virtue as if passion and righteous indignation were a vice. Is he unaware of what extreme dangers lie before our Republic? We are well past the point when screaming and shouting should have occurred and the silence is frightening. We have seen this silence too many times during the worst periods of history and we look back shocked proclaiming, “Why didn’t somebody do something to prevent this madness?”
Now we find our generation at this point in time about to let the greatest nation in the history of the world fall off a cliff into darkness. The extinction of liberty is not something to be tone deaf over and it is not the time for magnanimity and grace. Now is the time to dig deep down, find out what your character is made of and fight like hell. Now is the time to remind yourself of the men in Washington’s army who fought with bloody feet in the snow and to ask yourself if you have what it takes to endure what they went through to keep the flame of liberty, which they started, alive and well. This isn’t the etiquette portion of a beauty pageant, as Wehner kids himself. This is the fight for our children’s freedom. This is the moment we have to decide if future generations will live under the torture that is tyranny.
If we want a conservative president elected in 2016 like a Cruz, Walker, Lee, Paul or Pence then “we the people” need to make our voices heard louder than this so called “conservative media” which is run by people like Pete Wehner, Karl Rove, Jennifer Rubin and Michael Gerson. What is the solution? We need to realize we are fighting two wars, one against the Left and the other against the GOP establishment. We need to do what the late great Andrew Breitbart advised. We need to become the new media and harness the power of the Internet and social media. Make your voice heard so loud you will drown out the Wehners of the world. Constitutional conservatives outnumber these cocktail club elite types. Takeover the Party. Citizens can start a blog or write a column for another person’s site. Many of the little do- it -yourself -Internet radio shows which have sprung up over the last few years are more interesting than the million dollar national shows.
The people are becoming the media and eventually the higher forms of media will get the hint to conform or they will become antiquated. Citizens should continue speaking out to your friends, families and neighbors. The people who run many of the big named news sites need to make it easier for the people in the grassroots to get their voices heard. Maybe they could devote a section of their website where people in the trenches could write blogs and communicate on a larger level. People in the conservative media should allow the people to speak instead of ignoring, and looking down their noses at the American people as if they were the unclean hillbilly masses.
It takes more than senior research fellows to make a country succeed . The people in the field get sick of only hearing from Congressional and Whitehouse staffers, therefore, offer fresh opinions. How often do we get to hear from the people who make America work? The teacher, the fireman, the electrician, the banker, the businessman? Not very often. I for one would love to hear from the people who “do” rather than the people who merely “study”- if you get my drift.
If you are in the conservative media, be a mentor. Do everything you can to promote and teach other people who are passionate about freedom and the founding of this nation. Over the past decade I have met hundreds of people who wanted to play for the conservative team but they were rejected so many times they began to feel unneeded and many of them quit.
If you are in the position to be a coach, put these people in the game, get them off the bench and give them encouragement. Guys like Wehner and the Bush staffers see us as malcontents and rebels. They think we should sit down and shut up. Let them know that is NOT going to happen.
Do you remember what the GOP establishment did to conservative Mississippi State Sen., Chris McDaniel, during the primaries? The GOP wanted Sen.Thad Cochran to win so badly, they drummed up bogus race charges after he had won the first primary to ensure that he would lose in the run-off. Many people even believed the election might have been stolen if the African American voters who were targeted in Cochran’s advertisements voted for Cochran after they had also voted in the Democrat primary weeks earlier. That would be illegal.
J. Craig wrote in an article posted on NewsNinja2012.com:
“This race woke up a lot of people both inside and outside of Mississippi to the corruption and deception known as the Barbour Plan. Former Governor of Mississippi and well-known lobbyist Haley Barbour, through his Mississippi Conservatives Super PAC was able to use funds and radio ads to mislead Mississippi voters about Chris McDaniel. Haley’s nephews Austin and Henry Barbour are very close to Thad Cochran. Austin is the senior Cochran campaign adviser and Henry is the Republican National Committeeman and also runs Haley’s Super PAC. These are the people, including Pete Perry, GOP Chairman for Hinds County who were hand selected as part of the Barbour Plan to keep Thad Cochran in office no matter what. Yeah that Pete Perry. The guy who raked in $171,000 from the Pro-Cochran Super PAC to “Get Out the Vote” for Thad Cochran.
The Cochran campaign knew they lost on June 3rd and also realized they could not win in the runoff without the help of Democrat voters. They soon rolled out a plan that would almost guarantee a victory for the Senator that had absolutely no idea he was even in a race. The Barbour funded campaign used racist radio ads that aired only in the heavily populated Delta area where the majority are Black Americans and Democratic voters. A Mississippi radio station aired an ad warning voters that the Tea Party would “take away” food stamps and other welfare benefits before the run-off. The ad certainly appeared to target black voters.”
At the time, the situation in Mississippi reminded me of this Ludwig von Mises quote: “There is no more dangerous menace to civilization than a government of incompetent, corrupt, or vile men. ”
Chris McDaniel was an honorable man, but Republican Party establishment hacks, and groups like the NRSC, will use any corrupt means to hang onto their political power. These crooked race baiting tactics exist within the Democrat Party as well as the Republican establishment, and conservatives need to stand on principles and speak out against these underhanded maneuvers.
Fast forward to the Steve Scalise scandal. It’s been all over the media that Steve Scalise may or may not have given a tax policy speech to a group of white supremacists associated with the horrid David Duke. This event was twelve years ago while he was a state representative. The same establishment players who were condemning an innocent man like Chris McDaniel last summer, are now quick to come to the defense of a man of questionable character like Scalise. Some of the NRSC members posts on social media prove this point. Steve Scalise may or may not be a racist man, but he certainly isn’t an honorable man.
Everyone in the Republican Party can see there is a double standard. Obama can associate with every radical person and group in existence and nobody bats an eyelash. Some of the white people in the Democrat Party, like Sen. Robert Byrd, have had numerous ties to racist groups and events and nobody cares. Majority Whip Steve Scalise possibly speaking at a conference for a group he didn’t know was associated with white supremacists seems mild by comparison. However, as conservatives we need to raise the bar and hold a higher standard for principles than the Democrats. Steve Scalise may or may not have spoken to the EURO group, but he does have ties to Kenny Knight, a longtime political adviser to David Duke. Kenny Knight, like David Duke, holds anti-Semitic and racist views and he has ties to the KKK and other hate groups. Knight even claims to have donated to Scalise’s campaign. Since the scandal has broken, Scalise hasn’t done enough to disassociate with Kenny Knigh,t and this isn’t good enough for the number three leader in the House. We can’t have a man in GOP leadership that tolerates anti-Semites and white supremacists as a constituent group. It is bad enough we have to be falsely called racists for merely criticizing the policies of a half-black president, we don’t need this kind of unprincipled person in such a high position in our party.
It is reprehensible that Speaker John Boehner and Kevin McCarthy have rallied around Steve Scalise and defended him. Nobody in the Republican Party is saying that Scalise himself is a racists, but can you imagine if the shoe was on the other foot and Scalise had been a Tea Party conservative? Boehner would have hung him out to dry. He would have asked a conservative to step down in a New York minute. Scalise betrayed Americans over Obama’s amnesty last month. The Republican Study Committee (RSC) use to be the conservative body of the GOP which would fight back when bills were promoted that didn’t align with conservative values. Scalise bumped real conservatives out of the way to become the chairman of the RSC, and since then has done everything in his power to destroy the purpose of the RSC.
In interviews with four aides who worked for Scalise while he helmed the study group, the staffers, who spoke under the condition of anonymity to avoid retaliation, described being actively prevented from working towards the RSC’s traditional goal of moving the GOP conference and its leadership to the right.
Plus, Boehner and Scalise worked behind the scenes to rid true conservatives from certain committee assignments.
Steve Scalise is an integral part of Boehner’s establishment team out to defeat conservative politicians and conservative goals. Meanwhile, Boehner is seeking re-election from his Republican colleagues as Speaker on Tuesday, the first day of the new Congress. A recent poll shows that over 60% of the Republican voters want him gone. When asked why, most stated he wasn’t effective at opposing Obama’s agenda. It would only require 29 House members to get rid of Speaker John Boehner
Joseph Story use to say:
Republics are created by the virtue, public spirit, and intelligence of the citizens. They fall, when the wise are banished from the public councils, because they dare to be honest and the profligate are rewarded, because they flatter the people, in order to betray them.
The wise have been banished from our public council and D.C. has become filled with immoral leaders who don’t represent the values of America. Too many people side with the Republican Party as if it were their “team”, even when the Republican Party is wrong. People need to stop looking at political parties and start looking at political philosophies. The problem is there are too many people who never even ponder what the Republican Party should stand for. We need more conviction in our politicians who advance a creed, not a Party. Finding our way back to the mindset of the framers will go a long way in healing the progressive damage to our country. Either you believe in Constitutional liberty, personal property rights, individual sovereignty, federalism and the philosophy of the founders, or you believe in big government control and central planning. If we want to save our Republic, we need GOP leaders who represent principles first, not men who commit all of these underhanded maneuvers. Conservatives need to get out the scrub brushes and clean house! Scalise needs to step down and Boehner needs to be voted out as Speaker. Now is the time. Conservatives need to go full force on their fight against the GOP establishment to win back the Party.
Less than two weeks before Christmas, on a weekend, while Americans were out buying presents at the mall, attending holiday parties and watching football, like a thief in the night another piece of their country and their freedom was stolen from them. The United States Senate conferred dictatorial power to the President and only 22 senators attempted to stop it. Last month, the American people spoke loudly and clearly at the ballot box issuing the order to their representatives in Washington, that the imperial President Obama must be stopped. Conservatives even held their nose and voted for non-principled establishment Republicans because they knew Barack Obama and Harry Reid must be stopped before further damage was done to our beloved Republic. Under the cover of darkness, the senate passed the 1,600 page omnibus, a $1.1 trillion dollar spending bill, thereby also funding Obama’s unconstitutional amnesty.
The Omnibus bill speeds up amnesty instead of defunding it and it is loaded with various other types of pork. The elite politicians in the beltway bubble continue to spend trillions of dollars which we simply do not have. They are putting coal in our Christmas stockings and our children and grandchildren will one day be handed the tab for this out of control spending. What kind of life will they have if we keep going down this path? Our descendants might have to live in a world with a collapsed dollar, a lost civil society and a lack of liberty. This is a lifestyle no American alive today could imagine. Yet this is what will become of our heirs if we refuse to take a hard stance and begin to strongly resist this tyranny.
Obama executed this brilliantly as only a master community organizer could. Yes, this one came straight out of Saul Alinksy’s playbook. To be a good community organizer you need to constantly keep the voter distracted from what you are doing. Like a magician, keep them focused on an illusion and they never see how the trick was actually pulled off. Aside from distracting us with a holiday season weekend, we also had celebrity packed racial protests going on in some of our major cities. Obama, Holder and Sharpton have been out race hustling for weeks drumming up anger over the Michael Brown and Eric Garner deaths and subsequent court cases. Then, Obama instructed his Left wing media- branch- of- the- government to do wall to wall coverage of last weekend’s race-baiting rallies, leaving very little discussion of what was really taking place in Washington D.C. Like the famous line in The Wizard Of Oz, “Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.” Another trillion dollars of American’s hard earned tax money was stolen from us in plain daylight. And our Constitution was shredded before our very eyes. It went by completely unnoticed to the average citizen. Even the first hour of talk radio Monday morning didn’t mention it. No, they talked about Hollywood movies.
In August of 1965, race riots erupted in the black neighborhood of Watts in Los Angeles, Calif. Columbia University sociologists and statists, Richard Andrew Cloward and Frances Fox Piven, became inspired by this event. This led them to write an article entitled “The Weight of The Poor: A Strategy to End Poverty.” It was a runaway success with Left wing radicals. What they wrote about in that article came to be known by activists as the “crisis strategy” or “Cloward-Piven Strategy.” To summarize the strategy: the community organizers needed to start actively filling the welfare roles giving money away to as many people as possible even those who really didn’t need a handout and get them dependent on it. If anyone complains, use their Judeo-Christian morality to make them feel guilty about not caring for the poor. (This comes from Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals “Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.”- in this case the Bible) According to the Cloward- Piven method, at the same time you should stoke racial flames and fan the flames of class envy. The more riots and chaos directed towards the government the better. The more fear in the citizenry, the better. Keep government spending money it doesn’t have, redistributing wealth with the goal of ultimately collapsing the capitalist system and replacing it with socialism. It is clear that Obama’s fundamental transformation of America is partly inspired by Cloward and Piven as we witness much of this going on today.
As the weeks go by and rallies continue in our poor inner cities where rage is brewing and people are screaming “Kill the police,” the one-two punch of Obamacare followed by amnesty might be the last nail in the coffin of the United States of America. With amnesty, millions of new illiterate, unskilled workers will eventually flood the welfare roles as Cloward and Piven instructed. Millions of them will ultimately be given citizenship and they will live in red states turning them blue and voting for Left wing politicians in order to get more free stuff. Buck Sexton said, “Simply put, the best way to avoid accountability to the voters is to change the voters. If you abandon any respect for the Constitution or the political unity of this country, the benefits of amnesty become obvious. Obama, leading the Democrats, made this calculated decision to enlarge their base.” The severity of what Obama has done to this country is irreversible from a federal level. We can see that neither party in Washington has any desire to save our Republic.
Last weekend, two lone souls decided to do the honest and honorable thing, which is to take a stand against this. Sen. Ted Cruz and Sen. Mike Lee stood up to the Republican leadership and the Democrats and decided to fight for the American people and for the Constitution of the greatest country in the history of the world. Two men decided to do what was right. By the end of the weekend 20 other people stood with them but it wasn’t enough to stop the trillion dollar disaster, not even close. (And sadly 18 of these 22 senators don’t consistently vote conservatively.) When the vote came in I wished all of us had been in Washington with torches and pitchforks. It’s such a helpless feeling day by day to watch your country come unraveled, to sit idly by completely frustrated as the Constitution which is the glue to our civil society dies a little more with each tick of the clock. Someone on twitter said “To all the GOP Senators who voted against Ted Cruz tonight I say: We The People have taken note of your treachery.” I heartily concur with that emotion.
Over the weekend and first thing Monday morning the usual suspects began to pile on Ted Cruz. The vile self-aggrandizing Washington Post blogger named Jen Rubin regurgitated her weekly anti-conservative talking points. Her comprehension of the Constitution continues to be an insurmountable task. She had a few vicious quotes about Ted Cruz: “Cruz remains the odd man out in the Senate, justifiably hated by his peers.” “The man who has come to define the dysfunction and nastiness voters loathe about Beltway politicians is going to have quite a tough time convincing voters he is the answer to the strife and incompetence of the Obama years.” This isn’t the first time Rubin has attacked Cruz. She is obsessed with the man.
Many people think Jennifer Rubin is a mouthpiece for the GOP establishment. I think she is a straight up Lefty in disguise. She’s all about spending, subsidies and amnesty. In her past she was an extreme Leftist Berkley graduate and Los Angeles labor lawyer for over two decades. Plus, how many Republicans hate Ronald Reagan like she does? I would venture to say very few if any. Reagan saw America as a shining city on a hill. Obama sees it as an evil colonial empire that must be transformed. And bloggers like Rubin remain clueless to all of this.
There is a serious problem in the media even on the so called Republican side of the fence. Everybody in D.C. thinks they are superior to the average American conservative. The politicians and the media in both parties feel this way. Too many people in the DC bubble think they can look down on the rest of us and treat us like gum on the bottom of their shoe. If you want to reach the people, start speaking to them and treating them like human beings with families, feelings and real problems which need to be addressed. Add authenticity to the message. Reach their hearts instead of putting them to sleep.
In Jen Rubin’s latest piece she criticizes Ted Cruz for never compromising. Compromise is not always a virtue Ms. Rubin. You can not compromise with tyranny. Should we be half free? You can not compromise with someone who wants to fundamentally transform the United States of America. You can not compromise with people who hold Marxist beliefs. At some point someone needs to expose it and stop it. Someone needs to stand on principles and respect for the American people and that person is Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz speaks to the people in the heartland. He feels their pain and their sorrow. He hears their voice when nobody else will. He shares their love for the American heritage and the Constitution. He answers their long held prayer that someone will stand up to the people who are hell bent on destroying our country and he knows there is no way we can ever compromise with this evil.
Obama’s lawless executive actions will now be very well funded. DC refuses to hear “we the people” and it’s so frustrating. D.C. is putting coal in our Christmas stockings. (Except they hate the coal industry too!) Once again this week’s spending bill was drafted in secrecy and the American people will have less than two days to review the 1,600 page monster before it is voted on.
The Omnibus bill speeds up amnesty instead of defunding it and it is loaded with pork! Obama is hiring 1,000 new DHS employees for his illegal executive amnesty. They are giving $1 billion to HHS for illegal immigrants from Central America who are already here. Plus $260 million in aid is going to Central America to reward them for sending people here in the first place. Don’t think the new GOP congress will behave any differently. They have absolutely zero intention of fighting amnesty. February is months away. Obama will have already made tremendous progress with his illegal executive order if we wait that long.
The Omnibus bill is granting long term funding for all of Obama’s executive agencies. The EPA will receive funding so it may begin unlawfully regulating our private property. The federal government has also begun to go through the same nefarious motions which caused the last housing bubble and all of the housing agencies will be funded.
Senators Cruz and Lee sent a confrontational letter to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid that warned they will object to swift consideration of any non-emergency legislation during the lame duck period. Senator Cruz asked them to pass a spending bill that ends next year to prevent consideration of a new spending bill during the lame duck and as usual he was ignored.
The media tries to scare the citizenry with a government shutdown, but what actually happens is only a very partial shutdown. All essential operations remain open. It is a very powerful tool which the GOP should use to thwart Obama and his Marxist agenda whenever necessary. It has been used quite successfully throughout American history. The people overwhelmingly voted Republican because they want the power of the purse and all of these tools to be used to stop the fundamental transformation of America.
Our debt is unsustainable. Quantitative easing will eventually collapse the dollar. The GOP establishment keeps kicking the can down the road. They are always willing to fight Obama or fix our problems next time but next time never comes. They continue to break all of their campaign promises and “we the people” have had enough. Regardless of which Party is in power, our representatives refuse to read the bills they pass and the spending never ends.
