Benjamin Netenyahu AIPAC 2014Posted by Eileen Hart on March 5, 2014
Benjamin Netenyahu spoke at AIPAC 2014 on Tuesday and gave a rousing speech. He opened up by telling the audience about his recent visit to an Israeli Field Hospital set up on the border with Syria. It is there to treat injured Syrians who are being attacked by their leader, Bashir Al-Assad. He spoke about Syrians telling him that for years Iran was good and Israel was bad until Assad started murdering his own people with Iranian bombs. Israel is one of the first responders in disaster relief in other countries. Bibi asked, “When have you ever seen Iran or Syria run to other countries and aid in disaster relief?” The answer is NEVER.
The focus shifted to Iran. They are aggressively pursuing nuclear arms since President Obama lifted sanctions. They are barring inspectors from entering the nuclear facilities. Iran is enriching uranium at an aggressive rate. Bibi reassured AIPAC members he will never gamble with the safety and security of the Israeli people. Never again will the Jewish people face the brink of extinction. Hassan Nasrallah, leader of Hezbollah and the country of Iran glorify death. Israel sanctifies life. Israel will show them that she will win precisely because of this reason. He renamed them what they really are: Bigotry, dishonesty and shame. May their movement continue it’s struggle in growth and raising funds in their quest to destroy Israel.
He singled out the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) Movement for being against peace. Asking the audience, “Do you see the BS in BDS? They will lose because they are wrong, morally wrong.” They are rooted in the age-old antisemitism that accused Jews of using the blood of Christian children to make Matzah, Jews caused the black death, blood libel. Discussing new business deals with companies who are flocking to Israel; Google, Facebook, South American countries and now signing a business deal with Governor Jerry Brown of California. This will bring a partnership between Israel and Silicon Valley. Major props to Jerry Brown for his pro Israel position.
Bibi took a strong position against Obama and Kerry’s demands to put foreign troops on the border of the Jordan Valley. Explaining that they would only be there when there is peace. History proves when there isn’t peace, these so-called troops always pick up and leave when there is turmoil in the regions they are designated to protect. In other words, they’re a disaster, they do nothing, and they’re a waste of time. The only forces who can maintain peace and security at all times are the Israel Defense Forces.
He called on President Machmoud Abbas to abandon his unrealistic demands and to make peace. Show the world he means it. A real agreement recognizing Israel’s existence with no excuses. It was a rousing speech with much applause and standing ovation. I only hope Israel can withstand two more years of a Feckless President who only sees Israel the way he thinks it should be, not the way it really is.
