Blaming the Innocent: The Liberals’ New PrejudicePosted by Janell Maria Troutt on April 8, 2013
As a gun rights activist and proud member of the NRA, I tend to get angry anytime people try to tread on the Second Amendment. However, a trend I notice lately is particularly infuriating. A slew of Liberal vitriol on Twitter, in response to a 60Minutes episode talking about Sandy Hook the other night really made me realize how bad this trend has gotten. It is the trend of blaming innocent and law-abiding citizens for the acts of psychotic criminals.
I remember one Tweet in particular from the other night. Basically, this individual said F*** the NRA and gun-lovers, etc. I noticed several people saying it was heartbreaking, and then proceeded to mention the NRA, NRA members, and anyone who enjoys the Second Amendment. Why? Because this is the Liberals new way of attacking those who don’t share their views.
Liberals speak out against prejudice all the time, however prejudice can take many forms. I get so irritated when individuals on the left seek to shame gun lovers. Liberals are supposedly against stereotypes, however they use faulty logic and misdirected anger in an attempt to make all Second Amendment supporters look like heartless jerks who don’t care about others. They say that if you don’t support gun control, then you are the problem. They make completely untrue statements about firearms and falsely classify popularly owned semi-automatic rifles as ‘machine guns.’
Gun control is not the solution. It punishes the law-abiding for what criminals do. Though liberals will continue to ignore facts, hopefully enough people have the common sense to recognize that this is another way for the left to divide Americans. We cannot let them.
This is the United States of America. Let’s keep it that way.
