Jeffrey Goldberg, in-house anti-Israel journalist for The Atlantic, gleefully put together this piece describing his encounter with a White House official who called Bibi Netanyahu “chickenshit.” Par for the course for a man who is signing deals with Iran, losing to ISIS, and driving members of his own party away from him during the election campaigns.  Jeffrey can officially give himself a big fat pat on the back now that his latest article will certainly encourage more worldwide antisemitism thus putting his own fellow Jews in harms way.  Way to go, Jeffrey!

There is one problem with this comment from Jeffrey.  No Obama official has been identified.  Is it possible Jeffrey is lying to push his own anti-Israel sentiment because he’s against settlement building?  Why would Jeffrey say this without providing proof or name unless he has his own disdain for the newly announced building in East Jerusalem and the creation of new homes in the settlements?  It is certainly suspect to me.  Unless Jeffrey is willing to be a journalist that exudes integrity, I’m not going to believe one word he says.  Not that anyone in the White House doesn’t call Israel every name in the book.  The Atlantic has a duty to divulge the name of this person because the public has a right to know if this is true. Jeffrey blamed the “junior” Netanyahu for being at fault for the breakdown of the relationship cherished by many prior presidents before Obama. The insult of calling Prime Minister Netanyahu “junior’ exemplifies Jeffrey’s abhorrent hatred for the man who attended MIT and has been in leadership roles throughout his entire career.  Unlike President Obama, who has never held a real job a day in his life let alone wear a clown outfit in a circus performance.

The only Democrat who was extremely supportive and loving toward Israel was President John F. Kennedy, who without hesitation, told Jewish leaders “my door will always be open to you.”  Not only did JFK keep his promise, he was the first president to help Israel get started on their weapons defense systems and sell them the arms they needed to defend its existence.  Jeffrey ought to take a page out of history and learn what a real Democrat president did to defend Israel instead of a chickenshit Marxist community organizer from Chicago.

“The other day I was talking to a senior Obama administration official about the foreign leader who seems to frustrate the White House and the State Department the most. “The thing about Bibi is, he’s a chickenshit,” this official said, referring to the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, by his nickname.

This comment is representative of the gloves-off manner in which American and Israeli officials now talk about each other behind closed doors, and is yet another sign that relations between the Obama and Netanyahu governments have moved toward a full-blown crisis. The relationship between these two administrations— dual guarantors of the putatively “unbreakable” bond between the U.S. and Israel—are now the worst they’ve ever been, and they stand to get significantly worse after the November midterm elections. By next year, the Obama administration may actually withdraw diplomatic cover for Israel at the United Nations, but even before that, both sides are expecting a showdown over Iran, should an agreement be reached about the future of its nuclear program.

The fault for this breakdown in relations can be assigned in good part to the junior partner in the relationship, Netanyahu, and in particular, to the behavior of his cabinet. Netanyahu has told several people I’ve spoken to in recent days that he has “written off” the Obama administration, and plans to speak directly to Congress and to the American people should an Iran nuclear deal be reached. For their part, Obama administration officials express, in the words of one official, a “red-hot anger” at Netanyahu, for pursuing settlement policies on the West Bank, and building policies in Jerusalem, that they believe have fatally undermined Secretary of State John Kerry’s peace process.”  – Jeffrey Goldberg, The Atlantic
