state-of-the-union-3

President Obama gave his sixth State of the Union speech on Tuesday night and it was full of the usual political rhetoric we have come to know from him.

Obama talked about the need for free community college, access to healthcare, voting rights, raising the minimum wage, equal pay for women, increasing taxes on the rich, and how the greatest threat to future generations was climate change to name a few. Islamic terrorists apparently ranks way behind hurricanes and tornadoes.

Fox Business Network’s John Stossel took to Twitter during the speech to give his take on Obama’s speech and what he really meant by his choice of words.

John Stossel does a great job in translating what Obama truly meant. He goes even further in his own SOTU or at least what he wishes Obama would have said.

The president went on and on last night about how he cut the deficit in half as if this was just another campaign speech. We know Mr. President, you won both of your campaigns. We get it. About that. He did cut the deficit, but it’s still $488 billion. All he did was cut from his own previously higher amount.

President Obama’s speech was full of the same old jargon he has used his entire time in office. He touted that he has created the lowest unemployment rate in years when in fact his policies were the reason it sky rocketed in the first place. Also, he failed to mention as always, how the labor participation rate has been the lowest it’s been since the Carter Administration and that our ‘recovery’ is the slowest in 70 years. The fact is, that millions of Americans have simply given up looking for work.

The president continues to disregard the Constitution and the need for Congress as his arrogance and bully tactics were clearly on display. He seems to forget how the American people chose to go in a different direction from his policies when they overwhelming voted for Republicans in November.

The president said, “the shadow of crisis has passed and the state of the union is strong.

Yet, he focused solely on ‘his’ agenda and not that of working in a bipartisan way. This goes against the wishes of the American people, putting the president severely out of touch. We heard him again say that he would veto any bills that come to his desk that stray from his agenda. He claims to want to allow policies to work without playing politics, but veto threats are indeed playing politics.

But hey, he’s just doing what he promised and ‘fundamentally transforming America’.
