Benjamin Netanyahu – The day the canary became an eagle

There is an old story that goes back to the days of coal mining when gas leak explosions loomed at every corner of a mine. Miners would keep a canary in a cage with a person assigned to watching the small bird. At the first sign of the bird collapsing and dying, the miners would know that a gas leak was present and would immediately evacuate the mine before an explosion could potentially bury them alive.

For a while now, Israel has been described as the “canary in the coal mine of civilization”. It was 13 years ago that columnist Jeff Jacoby said: ” Jews, it is often said, are the canary in the coal mine of civilization. When they become the objects of savagery and hate, it means the air has been poisoned and an explosion is soon to come. If Europeans don’t rise up and turn against the Jew-haters, it is only a matter of time until the Jew-haters rise up and turn against them.”

We have been told over and over by some of the wisest political analysts, and many Bible scholars, that we should watch Israel closely. Jacoby claimed in 2002 that Europe was going to fall if they didn’t stand against Israel haters and anti-Semites. Today, Europe is watching as its own Jewish community is leaving in droves to move to Israel. The Jew-haters are winning Europe (not necessarily without the help of some natives, sad to say).

This fate is unfortunately not reserved only for Europe. It is a global shadow covering an increasingly larger geographical area. As much as many Americans would like to believe it, America is not immune. The canary [Israel] applies to America as well. On March 3, 2015, the canary desperately tried to get the attention of the miners. Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke for over 40 minutes before a joint meeting of the US congress, showing true leadership through a passionate, focused and gravely concerned speech.

No representative from the White House was present. President Obama apparently was on a video conference call with European leaders. Vice President Biden was in South America and John Kerry was in Geneva discussing the very Iranian deal that was the topic of Bibi’s visit and speech. Over 50 democrats chose to boycott Bibi’s speech. The absence of the leader of the Free World and his entire cabinet spoke tons. It makes one wonder what Mr. Obama really means when he says that he would always have Israel’s back? Are we talking about watching out for the Jewish state’s safety or are we talking about stabbing in the back? Obama’s no show would make me think the latter.

None of this prevented Mr. Netanyahu from expressing deep gratitude to the United States for a long-standing relationship with Israel. As Netanyahu said during his AIPAC speech (start at 1:25:50) in front of 16,000 people: “I mean no disrespect to President Obama.”Netanyahu’s speech started with many specific examples of why Israel will always be indebted to the United States, citing several specific cases when Mr. Obama supported the Jewish State. His gratitude was heartfelt and very obvious. It was clear that his visit wasn’t meant to be a scolding of the current US administration but more of an alarm sounding.

The rest of his speech focused on Iran and the danger it already poses today without nuclear capability, followed by how much more dangerous it would be with it. To most people, including some in the Middle East who are not necessarily Israel’s best friends, Iran is the biggest threat to the region. But Iran is much more than a regional bully, it is a global one. If the nuclear deal goes through, Iran will be soon equipped with nuclear head mounted missiles capable of reaching Israel of course, but also all the way to America’s east coast.

Netanyahu delivered a passionate appeal to the United States, but truly, he was speaking to the world. He was interrupted by over 40 rounds of applause, many of them being bipartisan standing ovations. What the current US administration fails to understand is that Netanyahu’s speech was much more than the Jewish State pleading for sanction against Iran to protect itself. His speech was the canary in the goldmine of civilization gasping for whatever little air is left before the global explosion.

Mr. Netanyahu was bold enough to let the world know that if necessary, Israel will stand alone, hoping that congress would get his “not so subliminal” message and back Israel up if and when necessary. His statement was very clear when towards the end he said: “We are no longer scattered among the nations, powerless to defend ourselves. We restored our sovereignty in our ancient home. And the soldiers who defend our home have boundless courage. For the first time in 100 generations, we, the Jewish people, can defend ourselves. This is why — this is why, as a prime minister of Israel, I can promise you one more thing: Even if Israel has to stand alone, Israel will stand. While I agree with Israel’s right to exist and defend herself I also recognize that God has been behind the miraculous rebirth and growth of the Jewish State. Nothing else can explain Israel’s existence today but the grace of the God of Israel who through Abraham, Isaac and Jacob’s descendants, promised a great nation and land (Genesis 12:1-3).

Mr. Netanyahu showed courage, integrity and leadership at a time of great global turmoil. Many will complain that the leader of the Free World was absent.  The frustration is justified, yet it gave Benjamin Netanyahu an opportunity to state the truth with authority. Even though a great existential threat remains, and the road ahead is tumultuous at best, March 3, 2015 was the day when the canary became an eagle.

Are conservatives ready to elect the next president?

WASHINGTON — Senator Mike Lee, (R-UT) started off the first day of CPAC addressing the conservative audience in the main ballroom stating that he is not running for President in 2016. He will be running for office in 2016, but only in Utah, seeking re-election for a second term as Senator. After much applause, Mike Lee asked a big question regarding the upcoming presidential election in 2016. Noting that over the past 6 presidential elections we haven’t elected a conservative since Ronald Reagan. His question then is,

“Are conservatives ready to pick the next president? “

Senator Lee then went on to explain how to identify a conservative candidate. A conservative candidate has specific policy ideas to reform our government. If you and the candidate disagree on an issue, they will not be afraid to tell you so. Lee warned Americans not to fall for platitudes, generalizations and abstracts from politicians seeking their vote. He then invited the audience and all of America to join him as he defined what that conservative candidate looks like. He proposed they will possess three qualifications: Principled, Positive and Proven.

“A principled candidate means being a conservative everyday, not just on the campaign.”

Being principled is something that you carry into every aspect of your life, and that is the first mark of a conservative candidate. Discussing what it means to be positive, Senator Lee said it means telling us more than what you are against, but what you are for. He then shared this concept by using the analogy of a soldier going into battle.

“A soldier doesn’t fight because of what he hates in front of him, his enemy, but because of what he loves behind him.”

The last quality conservatives need to demand from their candidate is that he or she be proven. Proven means 2 things;

Someone who has proven himself by winning big fights on election day. Someone who has proven himself after election day, while in office. Conservatives must demand both. Show he can win elections, and later show that he deserved to win those elections. He must show he will battle against entrenched interest, not just of the other party, but within his own. The conservative candidate who ignores moderates is as misguided as the moderate that ignores conservatives. The candidate we are looking for can attract both.

His comments were met with approval as evidenced by the crowd’s applause. After outlining the resume of what conservatives need to look for if they want to elect the next president of the United States of America, Senator Lee turned the onus onto the citizens of our country.

“Principled, positive and proven isn’t just up to the candidates themselves. It’s up to us as well.”

In his closing thoughts Senator Lee provided more insights for voters to reflect on.

Republican candidates are only going to be as good as conservatives demand them to be in 2015. Let’s demand that these candidates will be extraordinary. Not one candidate will be anything short of that. Imagine if no one donated a dime of their money to those who talk a big game, about limiting big government, but never gets around to talking about how he would fix broken government.

Principled. Positive. Proven.

“That’s the candidate and campaign people are waiting for and the one conservatives can produce, if and only if we stay true to our own high ideals. I’m here to ask for your help to find him!”
– Senator Mike Lee (R-UT)

MCDANIEL: Restraining Presidential Power: Executive Orders

By: Senator Chris McDaniel

Soon after the Republican sweep in the midterm elections, President Obama issued a very controversial executive order on immigration, allowing a minimum of five million illegals to remain in the country without fear of deportation.  This order essentially granted them amnesty and nullified federal laws governing aliens who crossed into the country illegally.

Now, bear in mind, Obama has said on at least 22 different occasions that the powers of the presidency do not give him the authority to issue such an order. In one such instance, he told the Spanish network Telemundo:  “I’m not a king. My job as the head of the executive branch ultimately is to carry out the law.  When it comes to enforcement of our immigration laws, we’ve got some discretion. We can prioritize what we do. But we can’t simply ignore the law.”

But ignore the law he did.

And it’s not only immigration that has attracted his pen.  In December, he issued an order to stop oil and gas exploration in Bristol Bay, Alaska.  Just this past week he issued another order to expand the amount of paid sick time for federal workers, all without congressional approval.

How can he get away with such abuses of power?  It’s easy with a timid Congress afraid to confront him directly.

Making matters worse, Obama has also deceitfully used language to confuse the public by naming his orders something else.  Rather than call such actions “executive orders,” he now labels them “memoranda.”

But whether they are called executive orders, memoranda, or proclamations, these actions have the same force of law and Obama, despite his denials, has issued 33 percent more executive actions than President George W. Bush and nearly 50 percent more than Bill Clinton.

Why does he do this?  Because Congress won’t act, he declares, so he must.  Yet, contrary to his belief, a “Do Nothing Congress” Clause is not in the Constitution.

In fact, unbeknownst to most people, there is not one single word in Article II of the Constitution, or in any other section, that mentions “executive orders,” “proclamations,” or “memoranda.”  Without Congressional authorization, they are all unconstitutional, whether issued by a Republican or a Democrat.

The Constitution, in Article I Section I, gives all legislative, or lawmaking, authority to Congress, not to the President.  The President’s power consists of making sure “the laws be faithfully executed.”  He cannot make law on his own, nor can he use executive action to delay or modify laws, as he has done repeatedly with Obamacare.

Although it may seem to be a frustrating system, it is the best ever conceived by man, designed to safeguard the liberties of the people.  This is accomplished by one of the great beauties of our government – the separation of powers, a division of sovereignty between the federal government and the states and divided authority between the legislative, executive, and judicial branches.  Put simply, the diffusing of power protects our individual liberties.

The founders did this to keep the nation from falling into despotism and dictatorship.  As James Madison, the Father of the Constitution, said in Federalist 46, “The accumulation of all power, legislative, executive, and judiciary in the same hands . . . may justly be pronounced the very definition of tyranny.”

But sadly we seem to be moving inexorably in that direction.

To stop this movement, Congress, now in the hands of Republicans, should take swift action to restrain the growing powers of the President.  Any illegal executive actions taken by any President should be swiftly reversed and, if applicable, as in the case with executive amnesty, defunded.

No President, regardless of party, should be allowed to change laws or delay them without congressional action, and no presidential action should ever have the force of law.

That power must forever remain in the hands of the people’s chosen representatives.

Senator Chris McDaniel is an attorney, conservative commentator and was a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in 2014. He has represented the 42nd District, which encompasses parts of South Mississippi, since 2008. He lives with his family in Ellisville, Mississippi.

President Obama set to call for tax increases during State of the Union

President Obama is set to deliver his State of the Union speech on Tuesday in front of a Republican controlled Congress. White House officials reported on Saturday that the President will introduce a tax package calling for billions in tax increases on top earners in an attempt to fund new tax credits and other projects the White House claims will help the middle class. President Obama has been touting how he wants to revamp the tax codes and close loopholes in hopes of keeping the American economy growing, and help grow the middle class.

In preparation for Obama’s second to last address, he has been traveling the country and unveiling White House proposals including free community college to qualified students, paid sick leave and improving online security following the Sony Pictures cyber-attack.

The Obama administration said that closing loopholes for the wealthy would generate revenue of $320 billion over 10 years; the new tax breaks that Obama plans to propose would cost $235 billion over 10 years. The increased taxes would help fund the free community college plan. The highlight of the president’s proposal is his increase on the capital gains and dividends for couples who make more than $500,000 per year to 28 percent. President Obama is hoping to move the revenue earned into several measures which include:

  • A credit of up to $500 for families in which both spouses work. The administration says 24 million couples would benefit from the proposal, which would apply to families with annual income up to $210,000.
  • Expanding the child care tax credit to up to $3,000 per child under age 5. The administration says the proposal would help more than 5 million families with the cost of child care.
  • Overhauling the education tax system by consolidating six provisions into two, a move that could cut taxes for 8.5 million families. Republicans have been open to the idea of consolidating education tax breaks.

During Obama’s radio broadcast, he gave a preview of whom he selected to sit in the “presidential box” during his speech. He has invited a woman who expanded her business through federal loans, an Afghanistan war veteran and student who is repaying his loans and obtained healthcare through federal programs. I’ll call on this new Congress to join me in putting aside the political games and finding areas where we agree so we can deliver for the American people,” Obama said.

Following his speech, he will speak at Boise State University in Idaho on Wednesday and then travel to the University of Kansas. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has warned the president again that he needs to abandon his “go-it-alone” approach and hopes that Tuesday can be a fresh start for working together. President Obama is not expected to make any major foreign policy announcements but will probably call for Congress not to increase sanctions against Iran.

New York Rep. Michael Grimm pleads guilty

In a Brooklyn federal court on Tuesday, Representative Michael Grimm pleaded guilty to one count of tax fraud. His guilty plea comes a month after he was re-elected for a third term. Grimm was indicted for under-reporting the payroll of his restaurant Healthalicious. He pleaded not guilty in federal court and was later released on bond. Mr. Grimm apologized for his actions and said what he did was wrong, but said he does not plan to step down.

Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi demanded that Speaker Boehner must insist that Grimm resign immediately. Mr. Grimm had pledged in April to fight the charges “tooth and nail,” but also asked to be removed from his post on the House Financial Services Committee while he dealt with his legal matters. A felony conviction does not disqualify a person from serving in Congress, other than under the 14th Amendment or for certain treasonous acts. It would take a rare vote by his fellow lawmakers to expel him from the House. Republicans were at least prepared in advance to push back against Democrats’ inevitable attack that the GOP was keeping a convicted felon among its ranks. Grimm’s sentencing was set for June 8, guaranteeing that he will be free and able to serve in Congress at least until then.

Ebola travel ban still an option

Center for Disease Control Thomas Frieden appeared before a House panel hearing late Thursday, discussing the current Ebola outbreak. Discussions of a possible ban on travel to and from West Africa. Representative Tim Murphy asked whether the President decided there would be no travel restriction. Frieden responded by saying, “We will consider any options to better protect Americans.”

It’s Time to Throw a Block for Clint Didier

With all of the nonsense surrounding the NFL and the Washington Redskins lately, there is one story with a direct link to both that deserves some attention. Former Washington Redskin, Clint Didier, is seeking a new title, “Washington Congressman.” He is running for the seat in the 4th district of Washington state against “moderate” Dan Newhouse. It is one of the few congressional races in the country that does not involve a Democrat, as both Didier and Newhouse are running as Republicans.

Last week, I was privileged to join a conference call with Clint Didier and learn more about his positions and the challenges he and many other conservative candidates are facing from the establishment GOP and their “hired guns” like Karl Rove. Anyone who will not tow their line is a target, and Didier is definitely on their radar.

Clint Didier grew up on a farm near Eltopia, Washington. Anyone who knows anything about farm life knows it is hard, physical work. It is also a way of life that teaches stewardship and perseverance.

Clint Didier would go on to play tight end with the Washington Redskins, after being told that he did not have what it takes to play professional football. He would collect two Super Bowl rings and wrap up his career with the Green Bay Packers before retiring from the NFL in 1990.

After football, Clint Didier returned to farming in Washington with his wife and family, and he also created his own excavating business. As a farmer and a business owner, Didier has been directly impacted by big government. He is a strict Constitutionalist and he espouses the conservative philosophy that so many in the Republican rank and file want to send to DC, which is why the GOP is sending out their goons. They know Didier won’t carry their water…but Dan Newhouse will.

During the call, Didier, who is a staunch supporter of the 2nd Amendment, contended that Newhouse approves of allowing a judge to determine if someone is mentally fit to own a gun. Upon doing further research, I came across a debate between four of the WA-4 candidates that took place before the August primary whittled the race down to two. Not only did it confirm Didier’s contention (at the 12:05 mark), but it raised some alarm bells in other areas as well.

Newhouse says that, if you have been determined to have mental issues by a judge, your right to own a firearm should be restricted. While that might seem like a sensible policy on the face of it, what happens if the government, under either party, uses the judiciary to declare conservatives, libertarians or self-described Tea Party activists mentally unfit? The Feds have already placed various “right wing” groups on the Terrorist Watch List and used the IRS to target private citizens who have conservative leanings.

The candidates were also asked whether they would support a more progressive tax structure to address “income inequality.” Clint Didier said “If God can live on 10%, I believe our government should be able to live on 10%” (16:42). While Dan Newhouse said that the tax code needs to be simplified (15:05), he also said “We need to make sure that everyone pays something, according to their ability.” Perhaps Mr. Newhouse would agree with Karl Marx who said, “From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.” This is the guy that the GOP supports? While addressing the tax code, Didier noted that the number of agencies within the federal government has ballooned from 100 in 1960, to over 1300 today. Big government advocacy is no longer exclusive to the Democrats, and the establishment GOP knows that Clint Didier wants to shrink the size of this massive behemoth. That cannot be tolerated by those who profit from the system.

The power players in the GOP are expected to throw all of their resources behind Dan Newhouse because he is the perceived “yes man” for the Republican establishment. Clint Didier knows he has a hard fight ahead, but he has seen hard fights before. During the call, I asked him who could be compared to Karl Rove, in terms of his opponents on the football field. He said that Lawrence Taylor was always a formidable foe, but we all agreed that Rove was not worthy of a Taylor comparison, as Didier pointed out that Rove has not been an effective “architect” at all for the Republican Party. He may have successfully engineered the re-election of George W. Bush, but his failures were also instrumental in the Democratic takeover of the House and Senate in 2006, and his influence within the Party has driven a wedge between moderates and conservatives at a time when the GOP cannot afford to spare a single vote.

Recall what happened in the Mississippi runoff between Chris McDaniel and Senator Thad Cochran. The Republican elites, including Karl Rove, were so desperate to prop up Cochran, a senile old fossil who has held office for more than 35 years, that they were willing to smear conservatives as racists and buy Democrat votes to push him over the top. It was a move that could very well cost the GOP that seat if the conservative base remains angry enough to stay home in November.

John LaRosa, who is the co-founder of FourTier Strategies, LLC, and who hosted the conference call, is also a long time football fan. He had a great line when he said, “Karl Rove is an architect like Garo Yepremian was a quarterback” (for those saying “Garo Who?”, click here to watch him stink it up against the Redskins). As of February of this year, donations to Rove’s fundraising machine have literally dried up. If Rove had been an actual architect, his buildings would have been condemned by now.

To be a successful tight end in the NFL, as Clint Didier clearly was, you not only have to catch the ball and make yards after the catch, but you also need to throw some good blocks for your teammates. We need Didier to advance the Constitutional principles down the field, but we also need him to throw a few crack-back blocks on bad policy. Obstructing legislation that further increases our debt or impedes our liberty will help the conservative ground game across the nation.

But before any of this happens, Clint needs to make the roster. That’s where “We The People” come in. Let’s draft Clint Didier, support him, make him a starter, and help him rip a gaping hole in the establishment Republicans’ Party line.

Visit Clint Didier’s website, and follow him on Facebook and Twitter.

Conservatives Plot to Oust Boehner

For months, several clusters of conservative lawmakers have been secretly huddling inside and outside the Capitol, plotting to oust John Boehner from the Speaker’s office when House Republicans regroup after the November elections.

The strategy — for now — seems disorganized and fluid: Find a way to push the Speaker’s race to a second ballot, create turmoil in the conference, portray Boehner as highly vulnerable and offer up an alternative.

The behind-the-scenes effort is taking place as Team Boehner is projecting confidence he will coast to a third term as Speaker, pointing to his unrivaled fundraising prowess and ability to corral his rowdy caucus, for example, to keep the government open and provide arms to moderate Syrian rebels.

Boehner is “back on top,” The Wall Street Journal declared.

Yet behind all the chest-thumping, the picture is less rosy for the 64-year-old Ohio Republican.

A number of conservative lawmakers, both in interviews on the record and on background, described enormous frustration with Boehner and his top lieutenants for taking too safe a political route ahead of the 2014 elections.

Child Cancer Funding Advocate Gabriella Miller, 10 and Her Message to Congress

At just ten years old, but so much wiser beyond her years. Her name, Gabriella Miller from Leesburg, VA. After being diagnosed with brain cancer in late 2012, she embarked on a campaign to have 10,000 people write letters to Santa Claus in an effort to raise money for charity. She wanted to use her battle to raise awareness of childhood cancer and to raise enough money for 36 other kids to go on trips with the Make a Wish Foundation. They met that goal and then some, with the Macy’s department store chain receiving more than 250,000 letters wishing for a cure for cancer.

gabriella_miller_water_4x6_296Gabriella’s parents found out in late 2012 that their daughter had an inoperable brain tumor. She knew about Make-A-Wish Foundation and after they helped her take a trip to Paris she had a selfless epiphany. Why not help other children make their dreams come true too? She soon embarked on the letters to Santa Claus campaign because Macy’s would donate a dollar back to Make A Wish for every letter received. She figured this would be a great way to help struggling children. She was right. Macy’s would help 36 other children make their dreams come true and also donated an additional $25,000 to Make A Wish Foundation in the name of Gabriella Miller because they were so touched by her letter and campaign.

Now that you know Gabriella, watch the video below to hear some words of wisdom on her thoughts on our government helping children with cancer:

She is very wise and makes a great point about our politicians playing politics just to win an election.

Gabriella, a dedicated advocate for fighting childhood cancer helped raise more than $275,000 to the Make A Wish Foundation. She also didn’t take too kindly to Senator Harry Reid’s comments about not helping kids during the government shut down.

“You might have a bad day today, but there’s always a bright star to look forward to tomorrow.” – Gabriella Miller

Gabriella Miller was named Loudoun County’s Volunteer of the Year at a county ceremony back in May for her work on the Santa Claus letter campaign. She wanted to raise more awareness on child cancer and the lack of federal funding. We would see just how powerful her message was and the power of social media as well as it helped with getting the word out. Less than 4 percent of the federal funding budgeted for cancer research is devoted to pediatric cancer research. This became a huge issue with young Gabriella and her parents.

“I need my childhood. And you know, less and less kids are going to have their childhood . . . if people don’t raise awareness and raise funds.”

Young Gabriella Miller, a selfless child cancer advocate who thought of so many others before herself lost her battle with cancer in October.  She was an extremely brave and intelligent young girl who helped and inspired thousands. She wanted to do all she could to raise awareness on what children with cancer go through and she loved life. Gabriella will certainly be missed by many. Her parents say that they’ve decided to donate their daughter’s tumor for medical research in an attempt to find a cure to the disease that took Gabriella.

“If I go, if I lose my battle, then I want other people to carry on with the war. They’re going to win this war.”

Please learn more about helping with child cancer research at Smashing Walnuts Foundation. A foundation created by Gabriella and her parents dedicated to finding a cure to childhood brain cancer.

Obama Approval At 37% as Government Remains Closed

OBAMA-articleLargePresident Obama’s approval rating has hit an all-time low at 37%, but where is this being reported? All you will hear are crickets from the main stream media as they continue to flood stories how the GOP is to be blamed for the government shutdown. If George W Bush were President, your neighbor’s dog would be barking about the approval rating, but since it’s Barack Obama all you see are stories reporting how Republicans are holding us hostage. This has been planned all along from the President, as his goal for his second term was to blame the Republicans for everything prior to the 2014 elections.

This administration continues to get away with everything because the media will not do its job. This obviously was not the case during the last Presidency. The hypocrisy with Democrats continues to be mind-boggling, but sadly too many Americans have short term memory. They cannot seem to remember how George W Bush was treated not only when his approval dipped, but during his entire time in office.

Obama’s recent approval rating should be a story in itself, but it is buried within articles written by media personalities that live in their liberal utopia. They wear blinders and continue to point the finger at those evil Republicans because…well, President Obama told them to. He’s always been truthful and forthcoming before, so he must be onto something yet again.

reid_harryThis government shutdown did not have to happen, but Obama and Senate Democrats wanted it to happen. Why? They knew the GOP would be blamed because they had the Obama media machine on their side to back them up. House Republicans has sent over ten bills to the Senate that would fund many aspects of the government, but Harry Reid continues to reject them.  If anyone should take the blame for shutting down the government, it is certainly the Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and the President himself who both choose not to negotiate with Republicans.

Senate Democrats continue to want a ‘clean’ CR voted on, but all this does is allow everything they want to get passed and nothing from the other side. This is not compromise. This is not how our government works. This is about blame. Plain and simple. This shutdown is all about how President Obama and his Democrat buddies want Americans to feel the pain in order to gain political points. This is not right for America. President Stompy Foot has chosen to close down many parks and memorials across the country in order to show his power and throw a temper tantrum. Thing is that many of these are privately funded. There are a number of examples where Obama seems to be spending more money and using more resources to close and block and inconvenience than to just leave it alone.

parks-shut-down-APSo, President Obama and Democrats stated that we do not have the money to pay for the government, but they always find the money and resources to barricade parks and memorials that are free and not regularly staffed. Again, this is just Obama making Americans feel the pain as he enjoys his golf course that remains open and his meals prepared by White House chefs deemed ‘essential’.

Leftist Ninnies, Numbskulls, and Nut-Jobs Oh My!

In 2006 a hilarious movie, Idiocracy, hit the silver screen. It was directed by Mike Judge and starred Luke Wilson. The setting of the film is America in the year 2505, and the plot showcases how stupid people have outbred intelligent people whereby Americans are also governed by a conglomeration of morons.  When I was laughing hysterically while viewing the film, I thought to myself: “We are almost there as a nation!” My worst nightmare has now become a reality as I am convinced beyond a shadow of doubt that we are there as a nation. America in 2013 could certainly produce a sequel called Dumb, Dumber, and Dumbest!

America is deluged with a cabal of low information voters, especially within the 18-30 year old bunch who are electing and re-electing low information politicians to govern us. Idiocracy by the year 2013? You bet! It is most pathetic, not to mention humiliating, when The O’Reilly Factor’s producer, Jesse Watters, queries young adults about their supposed knowledge and mastery of American history with questions such as: Do you know in what century the American Revolution was fought? What country did we fight against in that war? The vast majority of those queried could not answer either question correctly! Idiocracy on a California beach? Most certainly. A sampling of the nation? Absolutely! Too many absentee parents and their unmotivated, narcissistic children, as well as the Democrat controlled K-12 public school system and the vast secular-progressive public and private university system nationwide, have collectively done a stellar job now haven’t they? Oh, it doesn’t end there by any means. Just as a frog bumps its rump as it jumps, let us leapfrog on over to Idiocracy in Washington, D.C.

In an interview with CNN in 2011, Democratic Senator Chuck Schumer of New York stated that the federal government consists of three branches: the Senate, the House of Representatives, and the presidency. In the first place, both the Senate and the House comprise one branch of the federal government, the Legislative Branch. What does Senator Schumer think the US Supreme Court and the federal courts of appeals belong to, an imaginary fourth branch? While campaigning for president in 2008 in Beaverton, Oregon, Barack Obama remarked that America has fifty-seven states! Well, this public school teacher gives the president a failing grade in the area of American geography. Many of us find such ignorance on the part of elected officials, who are entrusted by the American people to represent us in an intelligent manner, to be most troublesome and embarrassing. Conservatives would be well within their right to call into question the quality of schools that matriculated such individuals during their adolescent and collegiate years. Were such progressive politicians educated in public schools, private schools, or both? Idiocracy is alive and well in our Republic. Honest to God, the entire affair reminds me of a wonderful line in the humorous classic film, Life With Father, where the protagonist, Mr. Clarence Day, frustratingly remarks to himself quite loudly while pacing back-and-forth in his study after reading his New York newspaper: “Why did God make so many dumb fools and Democrats?”

Perhaps it is high time the American people propose a new amendment be added to the Constitution that would require every potential political candidate running for Congress and the presidency to pass-with flying colors-an extensive exam on the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, American history, American civics, and American geography before being permitted to campaign for public office, much less be elected to serve in public office. It is about time the American people give our politicians a taste of their own medicine as we could appropriately designate this new amendment-The No Politician Left Behind Amendment. While we are at it, we could lobby for the passage of another new amendment that would mandate similar requirements be imposed upon the American voters in order for them to be qualified to cast votes in an informed and intelligent manner during every state and national election. Only then might America be in a position to reverse our current state of Idiocracy. Leftist ninnies, numbskulls, and nut-jobs oh my! Take your pick as we merrily sing and skip down the Yellow Brick Road together on our way to the farcical secular-progressive Emerald City in the Land of Oz. Toto, we’re not in Kansas anymore!

S.744: Immigration Reform Trouble

s744We all probably agree that immigration reform must be done, but at what expense? Meaning, with the S.744 bill sponsored by the “Gang of Eight” and supported by many in the Senate, do we trust them to truly secure our borders? We have all seen what happened with Obamacare when it was passed through without anyone reading the bill. This must stop! We cannot allow our politicians to continue shoving these ridiculous bills down our throats that will not fix the issues. Many of us are all for immigration, but legal immigration it must be.

The S. 744 Bill or the Border Security, Economic Opportunity, and Immigration Modernization Act will only add to the problem. Far too often people are misled on congressional bills simply because of the catchy names that are given to them. Remember, “Affordable Care Act”? Really? The majority of bills are titled to catch people and persuade them without reading the fine print. We do not need congress to “Pelosi” this amnesty bill as Sarah Palin put it. We do need to know what’s in it before it is passed.

According to Conservative Daily News: One of the major provisions of S. 744 is the “path to citizenship.” A new “registered provisional immigrant” (RPI) status for eligible undocumented immigrants (illegal aliens) would be created. Those in RPI status also qualify for a Social Security number and state driver’s license. All registered immigrants (and spouses and children) could, after 10 years, seek to become lawful permanent residents (LPRs). Three years later, they would be eligible to apply to become US citizens. The only requirement is that aliens be in the US as of December 31, 2011.

This is what Congress does, passes a bill and only informs the American people on the short term effects. They had the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) look at the bill for just the first 10 years and they move any costly items off into the future on purpose. They did this with Obamacare and trying to do it again. This bill will NOT stop illegal immigration despite the “promised” border security, but it will drive down wages for average hardworking Americans. It would only slow future illegal immigration by 25% according to the CBO.

This bill will burden taxpayers with trillions of dollars in welfare and entitlement costs for the newly legalized immigrants under amnesty. Heritage’s Robert Rector explains:

“S.744 provides only a temporary delay in eligibility to welfare and entitlements. Over time, S.744 makes all 18.5 million eligible for nearly every government program, including: Obamacare, 80 different welfare programs, Social Security and Medicare. When this occurs, spending will explode, but nearly all the real costs do not appear in the CBO score.”

Please act now! This bill is being voted on today at 5:30PM EST. Call your Senators and tell them to vote NO on the S.744 Immigration Reform Bill! Fill out this form to inform them as well. We cannot allow this, but more importantly we simply cannot afford it.
